Dr. Thurm is one of a handful of dentists nationwide who is qualified to offer all forms of sedation including general anesthesia. Dr. Arthur Thurm is one of the very few general dentists certified in the administration of general anesthesia for general dentistry. According to the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, there are fewer than 250 general dentists who are certified Fellows of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Thurm graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1977. He completed a one year general practice residency as the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Hospital in 1978. He then completed a one year residency in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia . In 1980, Dr. Thurm became a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology certifying his ability and training in the administration of general anesthesia. Dr. Thurm continued to teach dental and medical students in the operating room at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1981 and 1982. Dr. Thurm holds a permit from the State of New Jersey (#473) certifying his training in the field. The National Dental Board of Anesthesiology awarded Dr. Thurm Diplomate Status in 2002. Dr. Thurm is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and Southern New Jersey Dental Society.
Spencer Carl Saint-Cyr graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1997. He completed advanced education in general dentistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998. His post-graduate specialty residency in endodontics was completed in 2000 at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine University in Fort Lauderdale , Florida.
Dr. Saint-Cyr maintains his own private practice in Endodontics in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He is also a clinical assistant professor of Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Saint-Cyr participates in the Endodontic therapy of patients placed under general anesthesia and sedation at the Thurm Dental Group on an as-needed basis. Terry Jackson has been administering hospital-based anesthesia since 1982, after completing his nurse anesthesia program at the Reading Hospital Medical Center. Terry has been employed by Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia 1982 as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).
In 1995, Terry became affiliated with the Thurm Dental Group and has been solely responsible for the observation, evaluation, and maintenance of patients placed under intravenous sedation and general anesthesia. Terry's extensive experience in out-patient based office anesthesia has resulted in the safe and effective delivery for Dr.Thurm's patients for the past ten years.
Carol has been with Dr.Thurm since 1981. She is the office manager and is responsible for processing insurance claims for patients, monitoring patient's accounts, handling office procedural issues, and arranging for patient financing for our most complicated dental anesthesia cases requiring third party financing.
Chrissy has been in the dental field for 10 years as a receptionist and dental assistant. Chrissy recently joined our team full time as our receptionist and is the first person you will usually have contact with when you call our office. Chrissy has a great deal of knowledge of the dental field and our services and will be able to answer most of your questions.
Maria has been in the dental field for 17 years and has been with Dr. Thurm since 2000. Maria is a dental assistant who participates in all aspects of dental assisting, radiology, and assisting during general anesthesia cases. Maria is fluent in Spanish and assists in the communication to our Spanish speaking patients.
Michele is our newest assistant. She has been in the filed for ten years and joined Dr. Thurm in 2004. Michele also participates in all aspects of dental assisting, radiology and assisting during general anesthesia cases.
Lisa competed her dental hygiene training at Camden County College and has been with Dr. Thurm since 1995. She is primarily responsible for dental hygiene and periodontal therapy, dental hygiene instruction, and dental hygiene scheduling. Lisa became certified in Nitrous Oxide monitoring in 2005.
Carol completed her dental hygiene training at Thomas Jefferson University and has been affiliated with Dr. Thurm since 1983. She is primarily responsible for dental hygiene and periodontal therapy, dental hygiene instruction, and dental hygiene scheduling. Carol became certified in Nitrous Oxide monitoring in 2005.
